Following the evolution of the pandemic caused by Covid-19, the international conference ICNF2021 will be broadcast online in addition to the face-to-face event already announced in Funchal, Madeira.
From 17 to 19 May 2021, Fibrenamics-University of Minho and WANFR will present the fifth edition of the International Conference on Natural Fibers but now in a hybrid model. Participants will be able to travel to Funchal on the island of Madeira, Portugal, and follow the sessions in person or participate online.
This new model will allow to safeguard the participation of dozens of international researchers, companies, technological and research centers that may not be able to do it in person because of the uncertain evolution of the pandemic.
The ICNF conference is internationally recognized as a leading event in scientific innovation in materials based on natural fibers and this edition will have the theme of 'Materials of the Future', at a time when the international community tries to minimize the environmental impacts of global industrialization and find solutions to the scarcity of natural resources.
The call for the presentation of papers at the conference is now open and interested researchers can submit their abstracts until December 31, 2020 on the ICNF website: https://www.icnf2021.fibrenamics.com
